The restaurant has the capacity for 150 inside and in good weather another
80 outside in the magnificent courtyard among the 4 mighty columns which support
the building.
There is also a winecellar with 60 seats for wine tasting or dinners immersed
in a magical atmosphere, which, mixing high quality wine and the ruins of the
Capitol, recall to mind thoughts of the grandeur and splendour of the Roman
period.
The Maffei Winebar-Restaurant is housed in the 17th Century Cardinal’s
Palace of the same namein Piazza Erbe which, in Roman times was the setting
of the Public Forum and later of its characteristic marketplace and the centre
of city life.
The Piazza is surrounded by magnificent buildings from many different eras,
dominated by the Lamberti tower (from which it is possible to admire all of
Verona). It is only 100m away from the tomb of the Scaligeri family and a short
distance more from Juliet’s balcony.
Those looking for good taste and individuality will find that a light, creative,
reinterpreted typical cuisine characterises the menu.
To eat well means to be received with hospitality, being able to choose from
a varied and imaginative menu one which exalts the tastes and smells of our
land.
